Art Storefronts has provided tools to manage HoofPrints® Fine Art Photography and its website within GDPR standards. The key elements important to the functionality of our website that are addressed by making our business GDPR compliant are:
1. Consent to Cookies. A cookie is a small piece of text that our website sends to our visitors' browsers. Cookies help the website remember information about our users - this is essential to making the web an easy-to-use place.
If a customer likes a piece of art and adds it to their cart, they can come back later in the day to purchase it and that item will still be in their cart, waiting for them. Cookies make this possible.
If we show a sign-up or subscribe form to a first-time visitor to our site and they opt-in, the next time they visit our site, they won't see that form again, because it has already done its job. Cookies make this possible.
By new law, we must get consent from each site visitor before cookies can be used. To accomplish this we have blocked access to our site until a visitor accepts the use of cookies. Without this consent, the functionality of our website is compromised; therefore unless the visitor agrees to the use of cookies, they will not be able to access its content.
2. Fulfill Information Requests from EU Residents. Even though HoofPrints® Fine Art Photography is based in the United States, through the Internet we have an international presence and are therefore subject to the new requirements of the GDPR. Built into the Art Storefronts platform and accessible to HoofPrints® Fine Art Photography's webmaster is a built-in button that allows us to immediately email a file containing all personal data collected directly to the person requesting it.
3. Automated Visitor Tracking (On and Off). Visitor tracking is not activated unless cookie consent is received. If someone revokes their decision to accept cookies, visitor tracking is stopped immediately.
